Update After Sunday

No sightings reported on Sunday, and the feeding station was untouched. But canvassing did reveal that the school custodian has seen Tundie in the area daily since Thursday. He continues to watch for him as does the man whose home back to the fence line he has been running.

Lots of fliering in the area, and at gas stations, Sterling Plaza, and the Sterling golf course over the weekend.

According to Craigslist, another german shepherd has been found, after being hit by a car, and the owner is being sought. The dog was taken to Pender Veterinary Clinic and should be going to the Fairfax shelter today. The Craigslist ads for that dog now state "Not Thunder". So, thanks to all for helping spread the word about Thunder and his plight.

  1. From the sighting locations, it looks like Tundie is using a combination of the Sugarland Run & Folly Lick SVPs to move around. Also, the strip of land which is for the future Wiehle Ave expansion connects the sightings. This strip of undeveloped land runs from Folly Lick SVP, along Fantasia, across S. Lincoln Ave and ends at S. Fillmore Ave (which is the future Wiehle Ave connection point). This ends 2 blocks from the elementary school. I walked my dog in SRSVP from Runnymede all the way up to Eddyspark Dr this afternoon. We kept our eyes out for Tundie, but no sightings. The fliers are still up in abundance along the trail.

  2. Hi Sue:

I just keep coming up with ideas so here goes.

Are there any bleachers at the Elementary School that Tundie could be using for shelter? Also, any local streams where he would get water. Could he be getting food at the Sterling Park Shopping Center. Also I am going to take a wild guess and say he might be going by way of the Sterling Cemetary. (E. Maple to W. Maple). I am not familiary with the area but by the looks of the Terrain map and his sightings he might be making a star instead of a circle. The other thought is that the majority of his sightings are at parks where he would seak shelter and shopping centers where he would seak food. A good restaurant would be Chinese.

Always in our thoughts and prayers.
