From Sue:
We had a probable sighting back in Herndon at 12:50 todayn at Florida and Alabama Avenues. This is in his old regular Herndon stomping grounds. The caller was sure it was our dog.
Tundie could either have picked up the W&OD in Sterling and followed back, or taken the Sugarland Run stream bed all the way into Herndon -- both any easy "commute" for him from Sterling, so it was likely him.
We rubbed Eli scent on all the Sugarland Run trail markers from Elden Street to the W&OD trail behind the police station.
Tonight we will refill the food station there with fresh food and high scent edibles (sardines and cat food mixed with the hot dog and kibble). If he does come around he won't be able to miss the odor. Will check the station first thing tomorrow.
I hope he is back in the Herndon area which is heavily posted and advertised in the Observer. Slighter warmer days and nights 'til the weekend are a relief.
Will contact the lady who offered to bring her dog and ask if she can walk her in the Sugarland Run Valley Stream Park area to lay a scent there.

Here's hoping that someone who sees it on Bob's blog sees Tundie and is able to call in that one sighting that we're looking for that somehow leads us right to a capture!
I have posted a comment on my personal Facebook page requesting all my friends and family, if they have friends and family in the area to please be aware and join in the search for Thunder. I also commented on the Fireworks.
ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers and toes crossed that he gets home today.
